Holy Week Schedule of Services 2019

  • A Message from Fr. Larry

    April 2019

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Not long ago many of us stepped into a church, in the middle of the week, and we had our foreheads marked with black ashes. We proudly wore a black cross that was traced right above our eyes, as an external sign of our Catholic faith. Our ashes humbly reminded us of our constant need for God to help deepen our faith during these 40 days of Lent. Once these ashes faded away the next day, our faith became even more visible as we embraced the traditional Lenten practices of prayer, fasting and charitable giving.

Soon, our Lenten journey will take us from ashes to Easter. We are about to begin the celebration of Holy Week. This is that sacred time of year when we trace the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our Catholic Church is blessed by the special liturgies that are a powerful expressions of our faith. As we recall God's love that raised Jesus from the dead. We trust that God's love will continue to bring us new life, healing and peace.

I hope that you and your family will be able to join us for our Holy Week services and Easter celebrations. The Holy Week services and Easter Sunday Mass schedule are included in this mailing. Also included are the times when we will celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Allow the Risen Lord to once again embrace you through the beauty of our prayer, worship and song. We welcome you, and especially those who are new to our parishes and those who might be visiting us, during these holy days.

May our hearts be filled with the loving presence of Christ,

    Fr. Larry Lisowski
    Pastor, ICSJ Parish
