We warmly welcome you to Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph Parish, a Catholic faith community located in Chicago’s Near North Side neighborhood. Our historic and diverse parish is an inviting “family of families,” blessed with two inspiring worship sites and committed to spreading the Gospel message of Jesus Christ through prayer and worship, spiritual stewardship, and our missionary spirit.
Parish News & Events
Throughout November, we remember and pray for our loved ones who have died. Feel free to bring to church a picture, funeral program or a holy card of a loved one who has gone before us in faith and place it on the memorial table. A Mass offered in their memory can be a comforting gesture of support and sympathy. A Mass intention can also be designated on the occasion of a birthday, anniversary or special need. Mass intentions can be arranged here or by contacting Clair Martin at our Parish Office, 312-787-7174.
Love to sing? Play a musical instrument? Christmas is coming and the ICSJ Music Ministry Team invites parishioners age 7 and up to join us in performing at the Christmas Eve Family Mass on Sunday, December 24th, a celebration where musicians of all ages join in song! Click here for more information.
The ICSJ 2017-18 Annual Report is available for viewing here. The report reflects the current financial status of our parish. Our Parish Finance Council has prepared this Annual Report to help parishioners see the income that is needed to cover the actual expenses of running a parish. The good news is that for the 2017-2018 fiscal year the parish and the school once again ended up “in the black” by $42,978.
Relax, refresh and rejuvenate on Saturday mornings (now through November) with Saturday Yoga in the Immaculate Conception Parish Hall. Gentle stretches and deep breathing, led by Jennifer Kim of The Peace School, will help you start your weekend in a healthy, calming way. For more information, see page 10 of our September 9th Bulletin.
The planet is our common home, and we are called to be good stewards of it. ICSJ Parish now has a Green Team to promote this stewardship and help the parish and discover and adopt changes that will aid us all in living more sustainably and taking better care of God’s creation. Look for the blue recycling bins at church, and please use them for your cans, bottles (without caps), and paper (unshredded). Watch the bulletin for upcoming Green Team events! For more info or to get involved, contact Lisa Feriend.
