2018-19 ICSJ Parish Council
Meet the ICSJ Parish Council - Supporting the Mission of the Parish
The ICSJ Parish Council is a group of parishioners that represent the diverse population of our parish community. With our Pastor Larry Lisowski, they serve in a leadership role to promote and support the Parish Mission Statement, the gospel message, Christian values and the Mission of the Church. The current members of the Parish Council are listed below.
I remember the first time I came to St. Joseph’s. It was back in 2014 on the night of the Easter Vigil. God must have told Toni “Here’s an easy catch. Act soon!”. She somehow found me after Mass, chatted with me for a while and invited me downstairs to the reception. This kind gesture was more than enough to warrant a return to church the following Sunday and slowly I found comfort, joy and peace in the ICSJ community that I decided to call it my parish. For this, I thank God and thank you all for the love and care you’ve expressed through the years. | A little bit about myself. I was born in the state of Kerala in southern India. I grew up in Abu Dhabi and lived in different parts of India for a few years before I came to the US for my Masters. I currently work as a statistician for Capital One. I enjoy music, running, reading, spending time with friends and exploring Chicago restaurants. | It’s my first time serving in a church parish council. I love the camaraderie of the group and Fr. Larry’s little quirks. I pray that we continue to grow as a vibrant Christian community in the Old Town neighborhood.
Ann Marie Achille
Ann Marie is a CPA and tax partner in the Chicago office of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP where she specializes in corporate taxation and accounting for income taxes. Outside of work, Ann Marie enjoys travel, golf and other outdoor fun, all things Notre Dame and spending time with her extended family. In addition to being a member of the Parish Council, she is also a sacristan, lector and Eucharistic minister at Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph Parish and is a member of the St. Ignatius Business Society. | Ann Marie graduated from St. Ignatius College Prep and the University of Notre Dame. She currently serves on Notre Dame's Accountancy Department Advisory Board and teaches a course, Accounting for Income Taxes, in Notre Dame’s M.S. in Accountancy program.
My husband Juan and I moved to the neighborhood close to St. Joseph’s Church in fall 2011. We had been parishioners at St. Vincent de Paul and we were looking to find our next community that would include Catholic Education for our future family. | During my maternity leave with our first daughter, I attended the Wednesday all school Masses. Singing the songs from my own Catholic school days and hearing the teaching was both nostalgic of the past and exciting for the future. It was the right community that we were looking for and we felt it in many ways including the music, coffee and donuts, and the people and faces we met. Both Juan and I got more involved with ministering roles at the church and it was a dream come true when our two daughters enrolled in ICSJ school. Being part of a Catholic church and school community is what I always hoped for as part of becoming a wife and mother. Our daily lives are filled with singing church songs, praying, and talking about our relationship with God. This has personally supported my faith and guidance from the Holy Spirit in my day at home, work, and in my community.
I have been attending mass at ICSJ since 2009. I was married at ICSJ in 2014 and both my children were Baptized at ICSJ. I enjoy the welcoming and friendly community and look forward to being a member of ICSJ for many years.
Gwen Miglio DiNatale
I came to ICSJ parish in search of a Religious Ed program for my daughter, Elle. We have attended ICSJ for 4 years. I love being part of the ICSJ community and the warm culture Father Larry has created. I have met so many wonderful lifelong friends. My favorite memories at ICSJ are the Christmas Eve mass and St. Joseph Day luncheon. I am look forward to growing the ICSJ community and welcoming new members.
As a new member of the Parish council, I look forward to contributing to the ongoing success of the ICSJ parish community and working to expand innovative outreach efforts to the larger Old Town and Gold Coast neighborhoods. I am grateful for the warm welcome and gracious hospitality of the ICSJ Parish, and look forward to ‘paying it forward.’
Steve Moore joined ICSJ parish in the fall of 2014, coming to Chicago after almost twenty years in the suburb of Carol Stream. He and his wife Joan decided to check out St. Joseph Church when they moved to the neighborhood just to the west. Steve has spent many years sitting in a pew by himself as Joan has been part of many music ministries over the years, including ICSJ. Steve's family includes 5 siblings, two sons and daughters-in-law, three grandchildren, and three cats. He enjoys travel, kayaking, bicycling, and golf.
I was born in Warsaw, Poland and lived there for the first 9 years of my life. After immigrating to the United States I initially lived in Rogers Park and then moved around to other parts of the city throughout my school years including a few years out in Arlington Heights. I ended up moving into a cute little apartment on Weiland in the early 2000’s and then moving into my current home a few blocks away with my husband when we got married in 2005. (He has lived in this neighborhood since the early 1990’s.) We started to regularly attend mass at ICSJ after finding out about the “secret mass” from a friend of ours who lived in the neighborhood (12:30pm at Immaculate Conception). Eventually we officially joined the congregation and now we have two beautiful daughters who were both baptized at St. Joseph and now attend PreK3 and Kindergarten at the ICSJ school. I feel so blessed to have been led through sheer luck or more likely by a Guiding Hand to be part of the warm, kind and inviting community of ICSJ.
Mary Alice O’Toole
Joe and I joined the parish 10 years ago when we moved from Michigan. We parish searched but our Daughter and Son-in-law were married there and it felt like home. We loved joining a city parish with all the love and diversity. I really feel like I found a better understanding of my faith here at St. Joe’s because of this. And who in the city has a better Choir!!!! Joe and I have been married 51 years and I don’t know where the time has gone. We have 4 children and 12 grandchildren....ranging in age between 25 and 6 months. Two of our children live here and 2 in Cincinnati Ohio. We now have 7 of the 12 grandchildren in the city. Joe subs at the school and still coaches basketball teams at ICSJ. Three of our grandsons go to ICSJ. Working is still in my Bio and I love it. I am a manufacturer rep for home accessories and furniture which allows me to travel quite a bit. However, it is always nice to come back home!
Tom has lived in the parish for 5 years with his wife Rosette. They moved from a parish in Flossmoor where they first met Fr. Larry as an assistant 30 years ago. During the week, Tom consults on occupational safety and health issues. You can find him around ICSJ as a lector, sacristan, Eucharistic minister, or working in the church garden.
