ICSJ School

A small school feel in a great big city

Immaculate Conception—St. Joseph School is a leading Catholic school partnering with parents to serve Preschool through 8th grade students from 28 different Chicago zip codes.

With two campuses located in the heart of Chicago's Old Town neighborhood, our families appreciate the close proximity to Chicago's downtown. Our 1431 N. North Park Campus serves our PreK-3rd grade students as well as our Little Dolphins Tot Program, while our 363 W. Hill Street Campus houses 4th through 8th Grades.

ICSJ School Family Mass

Throughout the academic year, our school hosts a monthly Family Mass coordinated by teachers, the parent association’s Family Faith coordinators, and Parish staff. These special celebrations unite parish and school families in worship. School families actively participate by volunteering as greeters, lectors, ushers, and choir members. Make sure to join us after Mass for coffee and donuts in the Parish Center!

Why ICSJ School?

Faith-Based Curriculum

ICSJ integrates Catholic values and teachings throughout the academic curriculum, including daily religion classes for all students, regular prayer services and Masses, sacramental preparation for Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation, and frequent participation in school-wide service projects.

The curriculum, teachers and staff at ICSJ have prepared my child to succeed academically, socially and spiritually in life.

Strong Family Engagement

The first thing you'll notice is that ICSJ students, families, school leaders, faculty, and staff members exude a true sense of community. At ICSJ, we are a "family of families," and engagement is high...the highest, in fact, among all elementary schools within the Archdiocese of Chicago, according to the most recent 5-Essentials survey.

Rigorous Academics

With test scores among the top 15% nationwide, our students are well prepared for success at the top high schools throughout Chicagoland and beyond. Our unique co-teaching model puts ICSJ students on the path to success from an early age. The support of two certified teachers in each classroom, from Preschool to 3rd grade, allows for authentic differentiation, meeting students where they are and helping them reach their full potential.

Beyond The Basics

Our rigorous core curriculum is bolstered by weekly art, music, and STEM classes, with Physical Education and Spanish classes meeting multiple times weekly, depending on grade level. Social-Emotional Learning and Executive Functioning are integrated into each day throughout all classrooms.

Working closely with our classroom teachers, our Student Support Team comprises five learning specialists, two counselors, and a school nurse. With ongoing collaboration with our teachers, our SST is there to help ensure each student is getting what they need, when they need it.

Exploring Interests and Gaining Experience

Over 40 opportunities for before, during, and after school clubs, classes, enrichment programs, sports teams, performing arts, and leadership organizations provide our students the chance to explore interests, gain specific skills, build teamwork, develop self-discipline and responsibility, and have fun with their friends and classmates.

Top High School Placements

With 95% of our students earning admittance to their top-choice high school and serving as student leaders once they get there, we're proud to partner with our ICSJ School parents to help develop tomorrow's community and church leaders.
