Ministry of Care

Ministry of Care helps us reach members of our community that are unable to attend our Sunday services in person. These volunteers bring communion, prayer and connection to our homebound parishioners and community members. Whether you commit to one-on-one weekly visits or our monthly communion services at Hallmark Senior Living Community, you can be the hands and feet of the Church, bringing Christ to others.

One-On-One Visiting

There are a handful of seniors in our community who are no longer able to travel to Mass to receive weekly communion. Through Ministry of Care, you can bring the most precious gift of the Eucharist to these people who hunger for Christ and connection. Meeting day, time and frequency is determined by minister and parishioner. All Ministers of Care must be VIRTUS trained through the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Hallmark Senior Living Community

ICSJ ministers host a small communion service at Hallmark Senior Living Community on the first and third Saturdays of the month. The Catholic community as this facility joins in a common prayer space to hear the Word of God and receive the Eucharist. Consider joining this team of volunteers to bring Christ to the Hallmark Community. You can serve one or both Saturdays of the month or fill in as a substitute when you are available. All Ministers of Care must be VIRTUS trained through the Archdiocese of Chicago.
