KnitWits Knitting Ministry

Knitting with a Purpose

KnitWits is an ICSJ parish ministry whose members knit and crochet handmade items for children and families served by Children’s Place Association, a Chicago organization that supports vulnerable children and families

KnitWits creates baby blankets, hats, and other comfort items that are donated through this long-standing partnership. Some members work on projects at home, while others bring their knitting or crocheting to the group’s monthly gatherings.

A Welcoming Community

KnitWits gatherings are informal and friendly. Members work on their own projects, share ideas and patterns, help one another with questions, and enjoy conversation while creating items for donation.

There are no formal lessons or requirements. Whether you are experienced or just getting started, you’ll find a supportive group where you can come when you can and knit with a purpose.

Gather With Us

KnitWits meets once a month, usually on the third Monday. Check the bulletin or the parish website home page for schedule updates. Come for the whole gathering or simply drop in when your schedule allows. New participants are always welcome!

When: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
